Fuselage Construction - Part 2

My BF109 3-View

1/4" balsa blocking has been fitted to the forward fuselage to allow for sanding to a rounded shape.
A 1/2" balsa block has been added to the bottom of the forward fuselage. The block can be hollowed out to save weight. A 1/4" balsa ring has been glued to the firewall to allow for a recess where the motor prop shaft will hide.
View showing the wing laid in the wing saddle. A balsa fillet will be added to the bottom of the wing to blend it to the fuselage after the wing is glued to the fuselage.
A balsa block has been added to the top of the forward fuselage and sanded to shape. Here you can clearly see the recess for the motor prop adapter.
A temporary 1 3/4" spinner has been installed to aid in final sanding of the forward fuselage. A round (more scale ) BF109 spinner will be used at final assembly.
Under side of the BF109 fuselage showing the 1/16" balsa sheeting added to the aft section of the fuselage. The sheeting has been omitted where a hatch will be used to allow installation of the elevator servo.
Top side of aft fuselage showing a 3/16" balsa cap install. Draw a centerline on the cap to aid in sanding to a symetrical rounded shape.
View of the BF109 with the wing in the saddle. The cockpit hatch will be constructed next. The hatch will be removable for access to the electronics and battery pack.
