The cockpit area has two partitions made from 1/16" balsa. Profile pilot images are glued to 1/16" balsa and the entire cockpit area is painted prior to gluing the canopy is place.

A vacuum formed canopy is available for this model. The canopy is appropriate for the IL-2M series aircraft. It could be trimmed if the builder desired to replicate the IL-2 early field modified version.
