Fuselage Construction Part 3

The fuselage is inverted on the building block so tha stringers can be added to the underside of the aft part of the fuselage. Add the center stringer first followed by the lower side quarter stringers.
This photo shows the lower aft stringers in place.
At this point the wing center section needs to be trimmed to fit flush against F4 and F7. Mark the wing using the plan sheet as a guide and trim off with an exacto knife and/or sanding block.
Add the plywood wing hold-down plate to former F7. The plate sits at an angle to match the wing. See the plans for details.
Slide the wing mounting down in the front leading edge of the wing into F4 and align the wing to the fuselage using a tape measure. Measure from the wing tips to the center of the tail on each side to make sure the wing is square to the fuselage. THEN drill through the bottom of the wing into the ply mounting plate with a 1/16" dia. drill bit. Install a 3/32" threaded blind nut in the hold-down plate.
A view of the wing mounted to the fuselage. At this point you are ready to begin installing 1/16" balsa sheeting to the fuselage.
